The human eye has 6 muscles while the cow eye has 4 muscles. There are many difference and similarities between a cows eye and a human eye which function differently depending on their needs. Looking back at the table of terms and function, t he retina contains light sensitive rods and cones which help the eye receive light that the lens has focused, convert the light into signals and sends them to the brain for recognition. Why does the retina have to be smooth? Why not wrinkled? From past knowledge, I know that, any transparent material, allows light to pass freely without scattering or refracting.ġ. The reason the cornea and lens have to transparent is because, in order for light to enter your eye, it needs a transparent material to pass through. Why does the cornea and lens have to be transparent? Well, the lens helps focus light and images on your retina, where the entire image is formed.ĥ. The lens has a very important function in the eye. Describe how the lens changes you vision? The ciliary muscles, which are part of the ciliary body, are attached to the lens and move in ways which will change the lens shape and curvature.Ĥ. The reason the lens needs to be flexible is because, a flexible lens can change its curved shape to focus on the objects or people that are nearby or at a distance. This is simply because preservatives were added into the cows eye to preserve it for future scientific uses, and the dissection lab is a great example! The lens in my dissection was not transparent.
